Stan Goodenough is an experienced Christian journalist who has lived and worked in Israel for more than 25 years. Called from his South African homeland “to comfort, not criticize” the Jewish people, Stan served as editor of the International Christian Embassy’s Middle East Intelligence Digest for eight years, during which he helped launch and co-edit the widely-read ICEJ News Service. While with the Embassy, Stan covered the 1991 International Middle East Peace Conference in Madrid as an accredited reporter, and since then has written extensively on the Oslo Process and its bloody aftermath.
In 1999, he was appointed editor of the popular about-Israel website www.virtualholyland.com, and since the collapse of its operating company, he has created and edited the sites www.israelmybeloved.com and www.jnewswire.com.
Over the years, Stan has spoken about Israel to international delegations at the annual Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem, and to visiting tour groups. He has also conducted speaking tours of the United States, South Africa, and the Czech Republic.
Stan is a passionate believer in the central role the Church has to yet play in Israel’s unfolding destiny. He holds, ardently, that Christians need to know and understand what lies behind the turmoil that keeps world attention riveted on the Middle East. And it is his conviction that the coming period will be crucial in Christian-Jewish relationships, and that all “ordinary” Christians have an important part to play in the months that lie ahead. Specifically, he believes that we are in a time of destiny with eternal ramifications for the United States.
