Marking 20 years of the Next Gen Prayer Movement in Australia
Over the weekend , marked an incredible milestone. 60 plus people who 20 years ago were apart of a ground breaking youth prayer and missions movement called Youth Arise and come together for a reunion to celebrate all that God has done , the surreal thing was 20 years ago most of us didn't have kids. Today you had married couples and their kids which represented the Next Generation.
Youth Arise as a movement began in 1998 and continued until April 2006 a few months later Generation Fire was launched with those who had been apart of that Youth Arise Journey.
The Reunion included people sharing testimonies of their involvement and how it changed their life and what God had done in them as a fruit of their time in the movement. Majority are now Missionaries , Pastors , Fathers and more. They all still love Jesus with a passion and so do their children.
The Founder of the movement Rev Graham and Andrew Sercombe who are great friends of Generation Fire were honored as Spiritual Parents to many people , Graham had brought a short word on 2 Chron 7: 14 , then prayed for the next generation of children to carry revival to their generation. Graham demonstrates humility , he has shown how we can effectively disciple and connect with the younger generation. The fruit is there as many of those people testify how their lives have been changed. Graham and Andrea opened their home to University students , Youth and Young Adults as well as their own children who today all serve the Lord.
We thank God that we have Spiritual parents like this in the nation, may God raise up many more.
God is stirring up many across this nation about a Next Generation Prayer movement. God has raised up Generation Fire to answer this call and to be available to see this legacy continue
